Light has a direct effect on our moods and energies. Some research has even shown light and color to improve health outcomes.

You can use this same simple trick to rejuvenate your household's energy, as well as soothe any anxiety or discomfort that this year may have brought.

Highlight the room in warm yellows, oranges and pinks, to enhance the feeling of warmth and safety.

What other colors do you prefer and why?

Ever notice how certain smells bring up memories of grandparents or playgrounds.

This is because memory is strongly connected to our sense of smell. Some say it's an evolutionary trait that protected our ancestors from danger.

Either way, we can soothe and uplift ourselves and our loved ones with warm smells, like coffee and baked bread.

What smells bring you joy?

Yoga and cardio invigorate the body and they can be done anywhere by any one. Even someone with bad knees and back can find moves that work.

Put on a workout playlist or video, such as Fitness Blender, and work out together.

You'll be spending nurturing time together and also improving everyone's physical and mental health.

What are your favorite exercises?

One of the greatest benefits of modern life is access to a plethora of information. Imagine learning about history, physics, or perhaps a new skill, like speaking a new language or crocheting.

Create your own educational experience and expand on it by journaling.

Ed.Ted.com is a great resource for learning about any topic. They even have lessons prepped with questions and exercises.

What is a topic or skill you'd learn to love.

Embrace this chance to nurture you and yours: to reflect, remember, celebrate and prepare for 2021.

Sending you Love and Warmth.

As Prince so famously stated

Dearly Beloved, We are gathered here today,
to get through this thing called life.
